AGS Norway Challenge
Ski Touring Winter Skills Camp
Originating in the mountain village of Finse, on the Hardangervidda plateau, the AGS Winter Skills Camp will immerse participants in majestic mountain landscape. With towering views of Hardangerjokulen Glacier to the west, few places in Norway offer greater nature experiences than Finse. On touring ski’s, and towing our kit and equipment on Pulks, we shall cross country through the remote beauty of Hallingskarvet National Park, overnighting at DNT Geiterygghytta, a serviced and staffed mountain cabin. Located at an altitude of 1,224 meters, Geiterygghytta is in the middle of Skarvheimen, the mountain area between Hardangervidda and Jotunheimen. Nature here is magnificent, wild and beautiful, and is renowned as one of Norway's 24 ‘Reindeer areas’. Along the way, we shall also spend a night in tents, practicing routine in cold conditions, and developing skills which are essential for expedition in the alpine environment.
We are excited to offer this unique new experience, please contact us for further details.
